On the campus of Pomona College, past the Sonntag Greek Theater, is the Frank P. Brackett Observatory, presented in 1908 to Pomona College by Llewellyn Bixby, class of β01.

The image portrays a graffiti-covered wall situated in a park-like setting with trees and a glimpse of a building in the background. Prominent phrases spray-painted in large letters include “WHEN PPL ARE OCCUPIED,” followed by “RESISTANCE IS JUSTIFIED” and “Β‘VIVA PALESTINA!” The graffiti showcases a mix of colors, predominantly green, red, and white. Various other markings and tags are scattered throughout the wall. The message suggests political and social activism, specifically concerning the Palestinian cause. The environment appears calm with dappled sunlight filtering through the overhead trees, creating a contrast with the passionate messages on the wall.

I found Leonardo da Vinciβs original painting of “The Last Supper” on the Pomona College freedom wall.
With all the students on summer break now, the campus is empty – just the way I like it for my daily stroll.
Two of my favorite landmarks on the college campuses.

With four days left of the Dog Days of summer, the sight of a beautiful fountain is wonderful and refreshing.

Stopping by the graduation ceremony at Pomona College this morning. One thing I do miss from my teaching days is graduation ceremonies. Other than weddings, thereβs nothing more life-affirming.
